Do you find sometimes that when you really need to hear from God heaven seems silent, nothing seems to come. Be still and know that I am God but ……..
You are still before Him but He seems so distant . Maybe you sit in your chair or fav spot and spend time with Him but He seems miles away. You read His word and nothing seems to be speaking to you. Holy Spirit come………..but heaven seems silent.
Then the words of a song come into your head, maybe this one, Don’t stop praying. By Matthew West.

Don’t stop praying, don’t stop seeking His face, listening for His voice, spending time with Him and reading His Word. It may not come in the way you expected but it will come. God loves you, you are His child and He hears every word you are saying, He sees every tear you cry, He is the God who sees, the God who knows and the God who loves you. He will speak. He won’t leave you wondering or worrying. May be there are things in your life that need to be dealt with first? Ask Him, whatever it is, His timing is perfect.
Maybe it will be later or tomorrow or in a few days but through something or someone or in your heart, or through His word He will speak to you.
Know that He sees you, loves you, is with you, He knows your every thought and need. He is our God our provider, healer, restorer, our Abba Father.
Times may be tough but he is bringing beauty from ashes. You may be going through the refiners fire but one day you will realise that the light has come, the dawn has broken, there’s joy in your heart and a skip in your walk because the light has broken through and your relationship with Him is so much deeper than it was before.

Don’t stop praying don’t stop believing don’t give up.

Psalm 28

V 1-2 To you Lord I call, my rock, do not be deaf to me, for if you are silent to me I will become like those who go down to the pit. Hear the sound of my pleadings when I cry to You for help.

V 6 to 9 Blessed be the Lord because He has heard the sound of my pleading The Lord is my strength and my shield. My heart trusts in Him and I am helped. Therefore, my heart triumphs and with my song I shall thank Him. The Lord is my strength and my shield. He is a refuge of salvation to His anointed. Save Your people and bless Your inheritance be their shepherd also and carry them forever.

Have you ever started off in prayer as David did. Do you feel sometimes that your prayers are hitting the ceiling or that God is distant and He seems far away and you cry out to him with all your heart and strength, but heaven stays silent. This could be for a short while or for many weeks.

I have had this happen in my prayer times and especially lately. There has been a lot going on in my life, ill health, many worries and I’ve struggled. Sometimes we don’t find the energy to pray or read His word, we cry out to Him for help, but He seems so distant, as David said Heaven stays silent.

But after the first part of this Psalm David then goes onto say, The Lord has heard his pleading.

Something has happened, something has shifted. What had changed? Well the Lord had heard his pleadings. He always hears our prayers but our prayers are not always answered straight away. Sometimes the answer is no as maybe we ask with wrong motives, maybe God is teaching us something to help us grow, maybe He has a better way but whatever the reason God is working in us and through us and He does answer prayers. He sometimes allows difficulty to bring us back to Him. To seek Him. Whatever happened David is now saying My heart trusts in Him and I am helped. The Lord is his strength and refuge. God heard His prayer and answered Him.

This is such an encouragement to us. We can trust God. He does hear our prayers and He knows what He is doing and sometimes He will allow pain and suffering but He knows what He is doing He wont put us through more than we can bare or He will give us exactly what we need to get through. He will use this for our good and His glory. In His perfect timing he will help us through.

As I mentioned I have felt, when I needed Him the most that He seemed so distant and quiet lately but like David He is beginning to speak to me. To show me things. Showing me He does hear my prayers.

Firstly, He has provided for my needs during this dark time. I came across a wonderful lady a few weeks ago who does an evening hour long talk on a verse of scripture every weeknight so I have been listening to her every evening, building my faith. She speaks about Gods healing and so much more and prays for us. She also has messaged me and prayed for me via whatsapp which has been so helpful and I am so grateful to her for this. She has been a great encouragement to me in many ways and has been praying for me.

Secondly, God has spoken through friends too and provided my needs as He had promised. Its funny how we can have faith in one area but not in others. I really believed God would meet my needs as He had promised that but with healing I didn’t have the faith needed. 😦

The other day I prayed to the Lord in tears as health issues still dominating my life at the moment , Lord what do I do? Please help me as I am struggling in different areas at moment still.

After praying I put YouTube on again and straight away I came across an elderly lady I had never seen before, she was just there and she said… Remember what God has done in the past. He answers prayers. He Heals, He will speak to you if you’re listening.

Wow that was just for me. Yes, we are to remember that God has come through for us in many ways before and He will again. He has answered prayers He has healed. And the part about He will speak if you are listening was just what I needed. I hadn’t spent much time in His word or prayer as I had been really unwell as I said and it took all my effort sometimes to get out of bed and do things I had to do.

We may feel God is distant when we need Him the most. We may feel our prayers are hitting the ceiling but press on. He sees, He hears, He knows and in His perfect timing He will speak or let you know He is there. It may be from His word, or a friend or even something you see on Youtube 🙂

Maybe you need to rest and recover but still read His word and pray as much as you can. You will find that as the days go on He will strengthen you. Don’t listen to the lies of the enemy either. Don’t give the enemy a foothold. When the lies come, replace them with Gods word. Keep declaring Gods word. Take it like medicine 3 times a day. Declaring His word is so powerful, its sharper than a two-edged sword. You will find that by speaking His word and declaring it over your life things will change. Don’t speak what the enemy wants you to say to bring you down and lower than you are speak Gods promises, His word and see things change.

Also put on the armour of God and one day you will realise things are changing, that His word is working in your life, that God was with you all the time, He has promised never to leave us or forsake us . He loves you and has heard your pleadings, like David, and you will probably find that He has been preparing you for something that He will reveal to you at the right time. He is our Shepherd and we are His sheep. He is our Father and we are His childten. We can trust our Abba Father. Stay close to Him, listen to Him and He will lead you to green pastures/ still waters and He will restore you.  God bless.
